The sudden drop in temperature has put pressure on our older cast iron pipes, causing more leaks across our network – watch our video on why this happens, presented by Laura Tobin.

We’re doing all we can to get to leaks as quickly as possible to repair them – however, due to the weather and the volume of leaks, we may not be able to do this on our first visit. If we can’t carry out the repair, we’ll make sure the area is safe.

In addition to this the weather is affecting our contact centre agents and field workers reaching their work locations.

Due to the extreme weather all over the UK we have unfortunately had to close the factory and warehouse until next week. TNT is unable to get lorries into the vicinity of the warehouse and therefore nothing can be dispatched this week.

We expect this to cause some further delays into the beginning of next week. We hope that business will return to normal on Monday and will keep you updated.

Significant snow has caused major disruption to transport services across much of the UK. There is a Red weather warning for heavy snow showers and drifting of lying snow covering the central belt of Scotland. As a result we have had to close our Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth depots overnight with no parcels leaving or arriving this morning.

Red weather warnings are also in place for Storm Emma which is forecast to cause heavy snow and drifting in strong winds across South West England and South Wales later today.

There are Amber weather warnings for frequent and heavy snow showers across much of Scotland, North East and North West England, East Midlands, East Anglia, South East England, Southern England and West Midlands.

Where it is safe to do so, our drivers are out delivering and collecting as normal but there is likely to be significant disruption to our services across most of the UK so we have had to suspend sameday ad-hoc collections and suspend our delivery service guarantees nationwide today.

Furthermore, the congestion at the channel crossings is still causing delays to all our export services to mainland Europe and guarantees are suspended on Euro Priority and Global Priority services to all mainland Europe plus the Channel Isles and Republic of Ireland today.

Events of this nature may cause pick-up and delivery delays and disruptions for customers. TNT will continue to provide services to the best of its ability in areas affected by the storm, as local conditions allow.
